Day 01: Arrival in Xian

Arrive in Xian Xianyang International Airport and be greeted by your guide who will escort you to the hotel, and the rest of the day is leisured.


Day 02: Xian

Terra-cotta Warriors, Xian
This day begins with a visit to the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum which housing the army of 8,000 life-sized Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses that had lain buried and forgotten for more than two millennia. Each of these astounding Terra-cotta pieces has an individually sculpted face, standing in military formation in three separate underground building. Lunch will be arranged in a local restaurant near the Museum. After your amazing exploration of these fabulous sculptures, visit the revered Big Wild Goose Pagoda (652 AD), a well-preserved ancient building in a classical Buddhist temple, about 1,300 years old and a holy place for Buddhists. In the evening, indulge in a Tang Dynasty dumpling dinner and cultural show featuring traditional music, dance, and traditional costumes.   (B, L, D)


Day 03: Xian

Wild Goose Pagoda, Xian
Today we tour the countryside of Xian. We drive to a typical village of Northern China - An Wu Village to feel the real-life of local farmers, in which we will visit a rural primary school, a rural clinic, local farmer's family and underground cave house as well as a local cattle farm and the ancient dwelling buildings come from more than 700 years ago. Lunch will be arranged in a local family, taste some local flavor. After than, we go to visit Hanyang Mausoleum which was built for the fourth emperor of Han dynasty 2000 years ago. The female Terra-cotta warrior was discovered from there. (B, L, D)


Day 04: Xian to Dunhuang

City Wall, Xian
This day begins at impressive nine-mile City Wall, and a bicycle tour on the top of 600 years old city wall. Fly to Dunhuang. Arrive in Dunhuang Airport, be greeted by your guide who will escort you to the hotel. (B, L, D)


Day 05: Dunhuang

Mogao Grottos, Dunhuang
We begin our discovery of this ancient oasis city at the significant Mogao Grottos which are one of the greatest repositories of Buddhist art in the world. Inside the six hundred surviving caves were sculptures and paintings dating from the 4th to 14th century, a complete collection spanning approximately a thousand years tracing the development of Buddhism from its initial arrival in China. A cornucopia of documents on subjects ranging from history, treatises on politics, the military and science, to Buddhist sutras and even personal documents such as tax receipts were discovered preserved with a dry dark cave. Next, the Dunhuang Museum in which include Tibetan and Chinese scriptures from the Mogao's famous Cave 17, which escaped the looting of explorers and archeologists, and relics from the South Pass (Yang Guan) and the Jade Gate Pass (Jiayu Guan) which were the China's outermost defense during the Han dynasty. Day 06: Dunhuang to Turpan

Crescent Moon Lake, Dunhuang
This day we experience a short camel-riding along the Singing Sand Dune which dune were named after the noise made as the grains of sand are crunched under foot to reach the Crescent Moon Lake which is a freshwater lake that has been a vital source of water here for thousands of years and where the desert meets the oasis in dramatic fashion. Take overnight soft-sleeper train to Turpan. (B, L, D)


Day 07: Turpan

Karez, Turpan
Arrive in Turpan in the morning, and be greeted by your guide who will escort you to the hotel. After breakfast and a short rest at hotel, we begin our tour of this city at the amazing 2,000 years old Karez, a kind of underground irrigation system, which used throughout Xinjiang bring snowmelt of the Tianshan to this parched city through network of underground water channels. Wells, dug at intervals along the length of the channels, bring water to the surface. Without them, Turpan would rapidly join the desert. In the afternoon, continue to the Jiaohe Ruins, built during the Han dynasty as Chinese garrison town to defend the borderlands. It was destroyed by fire in a rebellion in the 14th century. It is a kind of eroded landscape, but it is an atmospheric place, let's walk around to fell its flourish in former days (B, L, D)


Day 08: Turpan

Jiaohe Ruins, Turpan
Today we visit the Emin Minaret (Su Gong Ta), constructed in 1778, and built by Prince Suleiman in honor of his father, Prince Emin. And then, go to the Grape Valley which is a lush stripe of green in the barren desert surroundings and filled with juicy sweet green grapes. At the valley's core is a flume of fast moving icy cold water traveling from the Tianshan to Turpan City. Next, visit the Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Caves which are a network of grottoes featuring Buddhist figures and wall paintings. They are eclipsed by some breathtaking scenery, sculptured by the wind and redolent of an out-take from an Indiana Jones epic. We will pass the Flaming Mountain which radiates a fiery hue under the bright sunshine on our way to the Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Caves. (B, L, D)


Day 09: Turpan to Urumqi

Terai Camp, Urumqi
Drive to Urumqi. Today we visit the Terai Camp to experience of Kazak nomad life, have a cup of milk tea and taste really local food. Continue to Nanshan Pasture which is huge grassland with wildflowers, green grass, horses, sheep, and white yurts. (B, L, D)


Day 10: Urumqi to Kashgar

Heavenly Lake, Urumqi
We go to enjoy the stunning Heavenly Lake (Tian Chi Lake), which is deep-blue lake, lies at and elevation of 6,500 ft (1,980 m), enclosed by lofty snow-capped peak of Bogda Feng, that reaches a height of almost 20,000 ft (6,000 m). The lake area is a pastoral pleasure with postcard blue skies and trails winding through deep pine forest, crossing flowery meadows overlooked by mountain goats on precarious perches skirting streams and passing Kazak herders and cattle and dotted with Kazakh Yurts. Next, we visit Xinjiang Autonomous Region Museum. There are excellent displays from all the major archaeological sites, including Niya, Loulan, Astana and Jiaohe. This is a best opportunity for learning about the lost cities of Xinjiang, as they are now all either bare or off-limits. Famous 4,000 years old "Loulan Beauty", Tang figurines and silk painting from Astana Graves, and a proto-boomerang discovered outside Hami from 1,000 years ago show us here. Fly to Kashgar. Arrive in Kashgar and be greeted by your guide who will escort you to the hotel. (B, L, D)


Day 11: Kashgar

Abakh Khoja Tombs, Kashgar
Today we visit the Id Kah Emin Mosque which is the largest in China, a symbol of Kashgar. It was built in 1442 by Kashgar's ruler Shakessimirzha. the central dome of this beautiful yellow-tiled mosque is flanked by minarets more commonly seen in the Middle East It exquisite Islamic architecture sets it apart from Chinese styled mosques and its grandness has grown with its increasing stature. After then, we visit Abakh Khoja Tombs which are family tombs for the royal hereditary leader of Kashgar in 16th century; one of the most famous tombs is Xiangfei (fragrant concubine) Tomb which belongs to Abakh Khoja's granddaughter, Iparhan. She was the imperial consort of the emperor Qianlong of the Qing dynasty. In the afternoon we visit Kashgar old Town, one of the most fascinating places to take in the incredible ethnic diversity of Central Asia. (B, L, D)


Day 12: Kashgar to Urumqi

Sunday Market, Kashgar
In the morning visit Sunday Market which is one of the most mind-boggling bazaars in Asia, as well as the livestock market where fowl and various four-legged animals are scrutinized and traded. One or two donkeys may even be taken for a test drive. Fly to Urumqi.(B, L, D)


Day 13: Depart from Urumqi

Today your guide will escort you to the airport for your return flight home, or continue your tour that we Tailor-made for you. (B)
